People have been asking for more information to protect themselves about Credit Card Skimmers. The following are (EXTERNAL) older style and method to capture your card info from putting an external capture device in front of the original one on the pump, or even Redbox, or pop machines.
These are harder to deploy now as the industry has adapted the card slots to be more protected, but they are still out there. They are easier to see if you are paying attention.
The new ship readers also have slowed down the in store or counter devices, but the gas pumps and other self service terminals do not yet have these ship readers installed.
You Can and prevent yourself from being a victim of identity theft. Remember you are not responsible for fraudulent purchases on your card, its the credit and personal information that they obtain that can be devastating. Check you credit report twice a year.
